가톨릭성가 ... Tantum ergo

가톨릭성가 189 - 193 에 실려있는 Tantum Ergo 입니다

韻文형식이기 때문에 基本(初級)羅典語文法에서 발전된 부분이 더러 있고

마찬가지로 정확한 解釋은 라틴文學을 전공하신 분의 몫이라고 생각되오나

對譯으로 올린 English text 가 비교적 直譯에 近似할 듯 ...

 

Tantum ergo sacramentum  .....  Therefore so great a Sacrament  

veneremur cernui,  .....  let us fall down and worship,

et antiquum documentum  .....  And let  the old law    [參考-3] 

novo cedat ritui;  .....  give way to a new rite

praestet fides supplementum  .....  And let faith stand forward to make   [參考-4]

sensuum defectui.  .....  the defects of sense.     

 

지존하신 성체앞에 꿇어 경배 드리세

묵은 계약 완성하는 새 계약을 이뤘네

오묘하온 성체 신비 믿음으로 알리라

cernuus -a -um [adj] : with face towards the ground, falling down, 땅에 엎디어

cernui : cernuus -um 의 (남성및중성)소유격단수 & (남성)주격복수
